There is no worry about going out without your social security card. Electronic social security card has been rolled out in 10 odd cities such as Ji’nan and Qingdao. People can receive it on Alipay when they click.
At present people in Ji’nan, Hangzhou , Wuhan and some cities can scan the QR code of the electronic social security card to pay for medicine in the appointed pharmacies. The medicine expenses will be deducted from the medical account , the same as the physical social security card. Soon electronic social security card will also be used to book a medical appointment in hospital.
