A 30-meter-tall ancient water tower located in Shandong University , Baotu Spring Campus and listed as one of the 3rd batch of provincial cultural relics protection units is rounded by 6 ring beams. This five –story-high tower including a small glass window on each façade from 1st to 4th floor is not the most previous one which was destroyed in the late 1990s but a “rebuilt” one on the original address
On May 13th a 30-meter-high scaffolding was set up around the old tower which will be sealed by a steel net . A new teaching building is known to be built up around the old tower and in a bid not to destroy the tower protective measures have been installed in advance. The steel frame structures will be dismantled after the completion of the construction.
