Jinan Officially Become China Software City

　　In the afternoon. 25th, on Jinan Pilot Work Summary Convention of China Software City Construction and Awarding Ceremony of China Software City, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology confered plaque of China Software City on Jinan. Thus, Jinan became the second city winning this honor in China, with Nanjing being the first one.

　　Up to now, there have been more than 1200 software service enterprises, employing 155,000 employees in Jinan. In 2010, the main business income of our city's software service industry exceeds one hundred billion yuan, including 61 billion yuan of software business income of which the added value amounts 5.6% of the city's GDP with an increase of 2.6%, and it became the pilar industry of our city. In the first ten months of 2011, our city realized software business revenue 75.3 billion yuan, an increase of 45% year on year. Its industry scale occupies 5.03% of the national industry scale, ranking 3rd among 15 sub-provincial cities of the whole country.

　　Previously, National Information and Communication International Innovation Park settled in Jinan. Jinan has become National Software Industry Base, National Software Export Innovation Base, Service Outsourcing Model City of China, National Animation Industry Base, Demonstration Communication Base of Sino-Japanese Bridge System Engineers, etc. And it has reached dominant position in the country. Now, Jinan has formed the pattern of software and information service industry as Two Regions in One City, East-West Linked, Multi-parks & Multi-bases and Dislocation Development. The total area of R&D and industry land is more than 4 million square meters.
