Drinking Water in Jinan Meet National Standard

　　Does tap water can be drank directly? What kind of water can not be drunk in our daily lives? As people's living standards improve, the quality of the drinking water becomes hot topic among the citizens. The launching ceremony for 2013 Jinan and Shizhong District Science and Technology Week was held recently, experts with Jinan Municipal Water and Waste Water Monitoring Center answered the citizens' questions positively.

　　The experts explained that Hygienic Standard for Drinking Water(GB5749-2006) was put into implementation on July 1st, 2007. The number of indexes for the standard was increased to 106 from 35. If all of the 106 indexes can meet the standard, the tap water can be drunk directly. According to the monitoring of Jinan Municipal Water and Waste Water Monitoring Center, the tap water in Jinan city meet the new national standard steadily, which means that the tap water in Jinan can be drank directly. However, tap water may be polluted on the transportation path, so it is better for the citizens to drink boiled water.
