The 10th China Art Festival kicked off in Jinan
The 10th China Art Festival kicked off in Jinan on October 11th, 2013. Shandong had made full preparations for this most influential national art activity. The 16-day festival, running until Oct 26th, will showcase nearly 2,000 performances, including symphony orchestras, dances, musicals, operas, and ballets from both home and abroad.
Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a letter to congratulate the 10th China Art Festival on its opening. The letter was read by Vice-Premier Liu Yandong, who announced the festival launch.
Contestants for the Galaxy Award, which honors amateur artists and community culture, will be judged during the festival. The activities for Galaxy Award draw extensive attention from the public, contestants for this award are from various fields, including workers, peasants, teachers, students, solders, policemen, doctors, migrant workers, etc.
