Museum to be built on location of Tang Dynasty tomb in Jiyang

What did Jinan look like in Tang Dynasty? On March 24th, a Tang Dynasty tomb was discovered in Qianliu Village, Jiyang County. After over a months’ salvage archaeology, the excavation work has been basically finished. On May 5th, Jiyang County Cultural Relics Bureau released that the epitaph of the tomb had been totally interpreted, and a museum would be built on the location to protect the ancient tomb.

Few Tang Dynasty tomb was discovered in Jinan area, most top brick vaulted tomb were Song and Yuan Dynasties, the discovery of Tang Dynasty tomb in QianliuVillage settled the dating problem on archaeology of tomb furniture in Tang Dynasty, said Wang Yong, curator of Jiyang County Museum.
