Jinan Zhongshan Park
Zhongshan Park in Jinan is in honour of Sun Yat-sen, better-known in Chinese as Sun Zhongshan, who is considered by many to be the "Father of modern China".
Jinan Zhongshan Park, constructed in 1904, covering an area of 46.5 mu, is located on Jingsan Weiwu Road, Jinan. The park was used as the first place of recreation of Shandong in the name of "Park". When Dr. Sun Yat-sen (Sun Zhongshan) passed away in Beijing in 1 925, the park assumed the present name: Zhongshan Park, used to be a place of assembly for the people in the period of the Republic of China. It was renamed "Renmin Park" from 1953 and resumed the name of " Zhongshan Park" on November 12, 1986 on the time of 120th Anniversary of Dr. Sun Yat-sen.
