Five More Garden Cities in Shandong，Total Number Ranked First in Whole Country

　Evaluation of National Garden City is held every two years, the applying cities are required to meet a series of specifications, for example: The per capita public green areas for northern cities with population of more than 1 million, 0.5-1 million and less than 0.5 million should be no less than 7 square meters, 7.5 square meters and 8.5 square meters respectively;The urban green coverage rates should reach 34%，36%, 38% separately;The rates of green coverage in established districts are ought to be 29%，31% and 34% respectively;The days of urban air polution index below 100 should attain 240 days; The environment quality for surface water should reach grade 3.

　At present, cities which are devided into districts, such as Jinan, Qingdao, Zibo, Yantai, Weifang, Taian, Weihai, Rizhao, Laiwu, Linyi, Dongying, Jining, Liaocheng, were awarded National Garden City; 12 county-level cities including Zhangqiu, Jiaozhou，Jiaonan, Qingzhou, Shouguang, Xintai, Feicheng, Wendeng, Rongcheng, Rushan, Longkou, Haiyang were awarded National Garden City; In addition, Yiyuan, Guangrao, Changdao, Pingyi, Zouping, Yishui, Ningyang, Dongping were awarded National Garden County; There were 16 cities awarded Provincial Garden City, including 4 cities which are devided into districts and 12 county-level cities, and 21 counties were awarded Provincial Garden County.
