Chinese coastal city to host int'l music festival
Qingdao, a popular summer destination in east China's Shandong province, will host a beachside international music festival in mid-August.
The 4th Inter City Music Festival, scheduled to run from August 11 to 19 on Qingdao's Gold Beach, is expected to attract tens of thousands of music lovers from both home and abroad, a spokesman for the publicity department of the city's committee of the Communist Party of China said Monday.
More than 100 artists from the United States, Canada, Germany, France and China will perform during the event, said the spokesman.
In addition, a photo exhibition featuring the development of rock and roll of the United Kingdom over the past five decades is set to be held at the time of the festival, he said.
The first three festivals had been held in Beijing's Chaoyang Park annually since 2009.
