Exhibition to Commemorate 90th Anniversary of Return of Qingdao
On December 10, the debut Exhibition of precious historical archives to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the return of Qingdao and Collection of China's Resumption of Qingdao Historical Materials and Course of the Recovery of Qingdao co-sponsored by Qingdao Municipal Archives and Literature and History Committee of CPPCC Qingdao City was held at Municipal Archives.
China regained the sovereignty over Qingdao on December 10, 1922 and Qingdao became the first concession to return to China in modern times. Exhibition of precious historical archives to commemorate the 90th anniversary is composed of six parts as follows: Battle of Qingdao between Japan and Germany, the Japanese colonial rule in Qingdao, "twenty-one" Demands, the Paris Peace Conference, Pacific Conference and recovery of Qingdao. The nearly 100 precious files, maps and photos reflect the difficult process for the Chinese to regain Qingdao. Apart from the files, maps and photos housed in municipal Archives, many materials collected from Taiwan, Japan and America are exhibited for the first time.
At the same time, the Municipal Archives compiles Collection of Collection of China's resumption of Qingdao historical materials and Course of the Recovery of Qingdao on the basis of historical materials housed in Qingdao Municipal Archives, the Second Historical Archives of China and Institute of Modern History of Central Academy in Taiwan. Collection of China's Resumption of Qingdao Historical Materials, centering on Paris Peace Conference, Washington Conference, May 4th Movement and receipt of Qingdao sovereignty, is composed of 3 volumes with a total of 700,000 words. Course of the Recovery of Qingdao, is the most systematic academic collection in the history of Qingdao?s recovery, contains the following issue such as Qingdao?s politics, economy, military, society, the Paris Peace Conference, May 4th Movement, Washington Conference, the receipt of Qingdao and Jiaozhou-Jinan Railway and unsolved and left problems.
It is learned that the exhibition will last until the late April next year
and Qingdao citizens can enjoy the exhibition free of charge.
