IBM Joint Innovation Center launched in Qingdao Hi-tech Zone
On October 9, 2014, IBM (Qingdao) Software Technology Joint Innovation Center was officially inaugurated in Qingdao Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone.
Jointly established by IBM China and Qingdao Taiji Hi-tech Co Ltd, the center intends to become a national intelligent city solution provider, covering solutions in intelligent community, intelligent park, intelligent tourism, intelligent livelihood, urban emergency and big data analysis.
The innovation center will also integrate intelligent city plans and examples to forge together with the Hi-tech zone “intelligent city pilot area” and to provide real intelligent life experiences.
In the coming 3 years, the innovation center will forge itself into an intelligent city solution platform and a startup incubator to attract talents, market, achievements and technologies.
In accordance with an executive from the innovation center, based upon the software technologies and R & D strengths of IBM, the innovation center will become an important bridge connecting Qingdao with international information resources and an S & T innovation base of this field. The innovation center will try to keep its technical leading position and sustainability and is composed of cloud application engineering research center, mobile internet technical research center, big data analysis & application engineering research center and the Internet of Things engineering research center.
The innovation center will also cooperate with the higher education institutions in Qingdao to establish IBM Software Education College to foster professionals that meet the demand of the software industry of Qingdao.
