3rd World Conference on Marine Biodiversity opens in Qingdao
In the morning of October 13, 2014, the 3rd World Conference on Marine Biodiversity (WCMB 2014), hosted by Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, was open in Qingdao. This is the first time China organizes the largest international academic conference in the marine biodiversity field. WCMB 2014 will continue to provide a platform for marine scientists to debate on the issues affecting the progress of this emerging field and identify the challenges and opportunities facing the development of marine biodiversity.
Over 300 scientists from 55 countries and regions would carry out in-depth discussion over marine biodiversity & global change, marine ecosystem structure & function, marine ecosystem safety, marine biological observation, marine biological resources, deep sea biodiversity with the theme of 'Life in the Changing Ocean' in the following 3 days.
