E China delegation visits Japanese bank
The coastal city of Qingdao, Shandong province, sent an economic and trade delegation to North Pacific Bank, Hokkaido in Japan, on Dec 8. The delegation had a chance to have in-depth talks with Yokouchi Ryuzo, chairman of the bank.
Zhang Jun, assistant secretary-general at the Qingdao government and head of the delegation, said that the two parties enjoy increased cooperation since signing the economic cooperation agreement in 2009. Zhang added that Qingdao and Hokkaido has great cooperation potential in agriculture, food industry and tourism and hopes to see more exchanges between the enterprises from the two parties. He said that Qingdao government is striving to promote the direct flight with Sapporo in Hokkaido, in a bid to facilitate the economic and trade contact.
Ryuzo reinforced this by saying that the clients of the North Pacific Bank have a strong desire to cooperate with Qingdao government. He also said that the bank will establish a branch in Qingdao in order to help enterprises in Hokkaido expand in the Chinese market
North Pacific Bank is the biggest financial institution in North Japan, it ranks fifth among the local banks nationwide. The bank has 3864 staff with 233 branches and 460 ATMs around the country. They enjoy a large number of customers in Hokkaido and has established representative offices in Shanghai and Dalian in China.
